Terms of use

Last updated 20 October 2026

Afterhour is a study app for NSW HSC English students. By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you're under 18, please read them with a parent or guardian, because they agree to them with you when you subscribe to Pro.

Your account

  • One account per person. Don't share it; Pro has daily fair-use limits partly so it can't be shared.
  • Keep your sign-in email secure. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
  • You can delete your account at any time from settings.

What you put in

Your essays, answers and notes stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to run Afterhour for you: marking, feedback, practice papers, insights and keeping your history. We don't sell them and we don't publish them. See the privacy policy.

Only submit work you wrote or have the right to share. Don't use Afterhour to cheat on assessed work where that isn't allowed.

AI marking is guidance

Marks, bands and feedback are produced by AI, measured against NESA's published marking guidelines. They're a strong practice signal, not an official result, and they can be wrong. Your teacher's and NESA's marks are the ones that count. Afterhour isn't affiliated with or endorsed by NESA.

Afterhour Pro

  • Pro is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly in Australian dollars through Stripe, until you cancel.
  • It renews automatically at the end of each period at the price shown when you subscribed. We'll tell you before any price change.
  • Cancel any time in settings → plan & billing. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Pro gives you much higher limits than free, with a generous daily fair-use cap to protect the service. Current limits are shown on the Pro page.
  • Refunds are covered in the refund policy. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Fair use

Don't try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer Afterhour, get around its limits, or use it to harass anyone in study rooms or friends. We may suspend accounts that do.

Changes and availability

We're a small team and we keep improving Afterhour, so features may change. We'll give notice of changes to these terms that matter. We aim to keep Afterhour running smoothly but can't promise it will never be unavailable.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Afterhour is provided as is, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. This doesn't exclude any guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
